NUMTECH is involved in the development of a tool allowing to assess the comfort as well as the impact on users' health.
The EuroRennes joint development zone, launched on the initiative of Rennes Métropole and which was contracted by real estate development concession to Territoires Publics*, presents a mixed construction programme with offices, accomodations, shops, services and public infrastructure. This project is part of an eco-friendly urban planning. A sustainable development charter serves to guide each step: development / studies / planning. One of the main theme of this chart is the quality of architectural and urban ambiances.
In this context, following a tender launched by Territoires Publics, the SCE/NUMTECH association has been chosen to develop a cross analysis tool of environmental dynamics. The aim is the creation of a design assistance and decision-support tool based on a multi-criteria analysis of environmental dynamics that may impact the comfort and the health (sunshine, aeraulics, acoustic, outdoor air quality, etc.). This tool will help, over time, to test and analyse the quality of comfort and health of future urban planning thanks to synthetic and pertinent indicators.
In this project, NUMTECH is in charge of the sunshine, aeraulics and air quality parts, and makes available to the backer its expertise in 3D urban modelling through the implementation of the Code_Saturne CFD model.
*Territoires Publics is a local urban planning non-trading company that provides support to municipalities of Rennes city and Rennes Métropole in urban development and renewal projects management.
