NUMTECH supports its clients in their transition to a more sustainable and responsible model. In this context, we recently partnered with DEGLON, a company specialized in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of kitchen knives and culinary utensils.
Together, we conducted their Carbon Footprint Assessment (Bilan Carbone®), a key step in measuring, understanding, and reducing their environmental impact.
Why conduct a Carbon Footprint Assessment?
The Bilan Carbone® helps evaluate an organization’s carbon footprint by identifying the main sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (energy, transport, production, etc.).
It is a strategic tool used to define an action plan to reduce emissions and align with national climate targets.
A tailored support approach for DEGLON:
As part of this mission, NUMTECH worked closely with DEGLON to:
- Collect and analyze data related to emission-generating activities.
- Identify key emission sources and deliver a precise diagnostic.
- Co-develop an action plan with reduction targets aligned with the French National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC).
Concrete and ambitious actions:
DEGLON is committed to reducing its GHG emissions in the coming years, by implementing actions from the co-developed plan, including regularly updating its Carbon Footprint Assessment and tracking environmental indicators as part of the company’s overall management strategy. Additionally, ecodesign is central to its projects, with initiatives such as a knife sharpening service and the development of a business model based on the Functional and Cooperation Economy, to extend product lifespan.
Thanks to this initiative, DEGLON now has a clear understanding of its environmental impact and the levers available to reduce its CO₂e emissions.
