With this goal in mind, we had the pleasure of working alongside ORANGE CONCESSIONS, a company jointly owned by Orange SA and a consortium made up of Banque des Territoires, CNP Assurances, and EDF Invest. ORANGE CONCESSIONS is dedicated to the deployment, operation, and marketing of fiber optic networks in rural areas across France. It currently manages 21 Public Initiative Networks on behalf of local authorities.
Together, we carried out the company’s Carbon Footprint Assessment (BEGES) - a crucial step in gaining a detailed understanding of its environmental footprint.
Why conduct a BEGES?
A BEGES evaluates both direct and indirect greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by identifying the main sources - such as energy use, transport, and production activities.
It’s a strategic tool that enables organizations to:
- Identify areas for improvement, especially in data quality,
- Communicate transparently with stakeholders (shareholders, financial partners, local authorities, clients),
- Comply with regulatory requirements.
Tailored support for ORANGE CONCESSIONS
As part of this project, NUMTECH worked closely with ORANGE CONCESSIONS to:
- Collect and analyze data related to emission-generating activities,
- Identify key emission sources and provide a precise environmental diagnosis.
The main goal was to deliver a reliable and transparent overview of the company’s carbon footprint to its shareholders, banking partners, clients, and employees, while also highlighting opportunities for improvement—particularly regarding the quality of supplier data.
