DAD (Data for Air Dispersion) is the first French database designed to supply atmospheric dispersion models with reliable and directly usable data:

DAD: hybrid meteorological data (stations + AROME model) with 3D grid and dispersion parameters

Reliable and customized meteorological data

The DAD database combines observations and modeling to provide data tailored to your needs:

  • Observations from over 600 stations across France
  • Simulated weather data using the AROME model (developed and implemented by Météo-France), high spatial resolution (< 3 km)
  • Coverage of mainland France and parts of Europe (other zones on request)
  • Hourly resolution historical data available since 2019 (mainland France)
  • 3D weather data modeling: vertical profiles and 3D fields available since 2022
  • Provision of required parameters for dispersion models (wind, temperature, rainfall, stability, etc.)
  • Data quality compliant with European Environment Agency recommendations
    • DAD: topography and land-use datasets (CORINE, WorldCover, SRTM) for dispersion studies

    The DAD service provides both observed and simulated meteorological data, including all relevant parameters for modeling pollutant dispersion (wind, temperature, cloud cover, solar radiation, atmospheric stability, precipitation...), as well as roughness and terrain data.
    DAD data are specifically designed to support major atmospheric dispersion models (ADMS, AERMOD, CALMET/CALPUFF, ARIA IMPACT).
    Yes, the data are delivered directly in the format of the main dispersion models, or in .csv format.
