Any project can benefit from eco-design—products, services, or events.
LCA helps assess and quantify a product’s environmental impact and identify areas for improvement. However, eco-design approaches may also rely on literature-based sectoral data.
Eco-design is not yet mandatory across all sectors, but increasingly regulated in Europe (Eco-design directive, AGEC law, ESPR regulation). It is becoming a strategic tool to meet legal requirements and promote responsible initiatives.
An LCA, quantified impact reduction, traceability of design choices, detailed reports, and ideally third-party review or certifications (ISO 14001, Ecolabel, etc.) all enhance credibility and prevent greenwashing.
