Air quality

Indoor air quality
Sizing and optimization (ventilation, comfort, etc.)

Diagnose and optimize the ventilation of your enclosed environment to reduce pollution and improve comfort.

Indoor air quality

Your needs, our solution

Do you want to diagnose pollution in an indoor space—whether a public-access building, a healthcare facility or an industrial site?

Do you want to optimize ventilation in an enclosed space such as a clean room, a classroom, an industrial workshop or an underground station, to limit indoor pollution and improve comfort (thermal, noise, etc.)?

We support you through measurement campaigns, modeling studies and improvement recommendations.

NUMTECH and you

Our interventions

  • Sizing and execution of measurement campaigns (gases, particles, molds, noise, etc.) via our partners.
  • Study services to identify pollution sources and model indoor air quality.
  • Numerical studies to characterize airflow rates and patterns in indoor environments.
  • Comfort studies and thermal performance / heat-transfer analysis around a process.
  • Recommendations and support (specifications, vendor selection, site supervision, etc.) for optimizations to be implemented via our foril Groupe.
  • Predict the spread of smoke or toxic gases in the event of fire.

Expertise

Our know-how and partners

  • NUMTECH’s expertise covers aerodynamics modeling and indoor air-pollution dispersion.
  • Our experts master CFD models (Code-Saturne, OpenFOAM) and analytical indoor-air models such as CONTAM from NIST (USA).
  • We work with partners specialized in measuring all types of indoor-air pollution, in line with current standards.
  • foril Groupe’s HVAC and building/BIM engineering office can conduct recommendation studies and support you as designer or general contractor.

Do you have any questions?

FAQ qualité de l’air intérieur – questions fréquentes
Carbon dioxide; chemical pollutants (gaseous or particulate) such as VOCs, formaldehyde, benzene, PM10 and PM2.5; as well as bacteria and other biological agents.
It is a numerical simulation of airflow in a given space based on fluid-mechanics laws. Typical objectives are: (i) study natural or mechanical ventilation (flow rates, velocities, turbulence), (ii) optimize indoor air quality (distribution, pollutant extraction), (iii) control temperature and thermal comfort, and (iv) analyze pressure losses in ventilation ducts.
On average, indoor air can be 2 to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air when ventilation is poor. Conversely, outdoor pollution can influence indoor air depending on the filtration used for supply air.
