REGULATORY SUPPORT
Air quality and health are closely linked. A Health Risk Assessment (HRA) describes the health consequences of exposure to one or more hazardous agents. We rely on the best available scientific data, complemented where needed by assumptions consistent with current knowledge.
Based on the air-quality impact study of your project’s atmospheric releases, NUMTECH also performs the quantitative health risk assessment.
Our experts help define strategies that ensure no health risk to populations and facilitate acceptance of the file by the authorities.
NUMTECH assesses pollutant health impacts using the latest methodological recommendations (INERIS guides, recommendations by ANSES and HCSP, etc.) and relevant sectoral guidance.
We address all issues: chronic and acute risks, inhalation and ingestion pathways.
Our specialized engineers use the most appropriate tools to determine population exposure.
Environmental study
A preliminary step to HRA, the Interpretation of Environmental Media (IEM) defines the state of the media into which a project is inserted and checks compatibility with identified uses. It is based on environmental measurements performed with our metrology expert partner.
Generally required by the operating decree, the Environmental Monitoring Plan (PSE) tracks an installation’s impacts throughout its lifetime and raises alerts if degradation is observed.
Contact us →Closely linked to the ERS, the EMP is built from IEM conclusions and inputs collected during the ERS. It groups periodic measurements across the various receiving media.
Based on dispersion modeling and the IEM/ERS conclusions, NUMTECH supports your EMP implementation strategy.
Periodically, and in line with environmental authority recommendations, NUMTECH updates the spatial strategy defined in the EMP, accounting for site changes, surroundings and meteorological conditions.
