Urban Air® is today the tool that will allow meeting tomorrow's challenges.
For you, decision-makers, this challenge to provide to each of your fellow citizen robust information on air quality and at high resolution is already possible.
By 2050, we will have to face up to an excessive concentration of population in town. Today’s challenges will be tomorrow’s challenges. The cities are and will be increasingly exposed to air pollution, which will involve serious impacts notably on:
- the quality of life in cities,
- the health of populations with an exponential increase of the number of premature deaths (stress, heart attacks, cerebrovascular accidents, respiratory problems…),
- the overall financial burden due to various nuisances (health-related harm, consequences on buildings, the ecosystem…).
To act, accurate air quality forecasting shall be available for decision-makers and the general public. Urban Air® system, developed by NUMTECH, meets this need by mapping and forecasting air quality at high resolution at the scale of an urban area, a city and until the street. The dissemination of general information on air quality is facilitated. Each person can have an estimation of the levels to which she is exposed and, depending on her sensitivity, take the necessary precautions for the protection of her health.
True decision-making support tool, it also provides necessary information to decision-makers within the framework of urban development projects, preparation of environment protection schemes and areas, actions to limit the exposure of populations.
This system is now the most deployed operational tool since it equips and will equip soon more than thirty cities in France and abroad (see map below).
